PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Vocoret family is genuinely among the oldest producers working in Chablis today, and remains family-owned and operated to this day. Sitting roughly 60 miles further north than the rest of Burgundy, Chablis is a genuinely demanding place to make wine — the appellation's characteristic acidity can turn sharp and unchecked unless conditions cooperate, both in the vineyard and the cellar, and 2024 was a genuinely brutal test of that: the region endured floods, frost, hail, incessant rain, and repeated mildew pressure throughout the growing season, with 634mm of rain falling between April and September alone — nearly double what fell in Rully that same period. Several producers made so little wine that year they chose not to show it at all, and some domaines, including a related Vocoret estate, even abandoned their organic certification in order to fight the mildew pressure directly.
Against that genuinely difficult backdrop, Domaine Vocoret et Fils' 2024 Chablis has emerged as a real standout. As Nicholas Wines puts it directly: "the Vocorets are one of the oldest producers in Chablis... their latest and greatest, the 2024 Chablis is a straight up knockout and a reminder of how special these White Burgundies can be when made right." The wine is made with genuinely minimal intervention — "no oak, no manipulation — just delicious Chardonnay shaped by some of the world's most distinctive soils," the Kimmeridgian limestone that defines the appellation.
Domaine Vocoret et Fils 2024 Chablis is produced by the Vocoret family, one of the oldest and still family-owned and operated producers in Chablis, Burgundy, France. The wine is made entirely from Chardonnay, grown on the appellation's distinctive Kimmeridgian limestone soils, vinified with no oak and no manipulation — a deliberately minimal-intervention approach that lets the fruit and terroir speak directly.
The 2024 growing season was genuinely difficult across Chablis, marked by floods, frost, hail, incessant rain, and repeated mildew pressure, with the region recording 634mm of rainfall between April and September — nearly double the total in nearby Rully. Yields were correspondingly low across the appellation that year.
Nose
Juicy peach and mango lead, joined by fresh lemon zest.
Palate
Super lively, well-balanced, with good acidity carrying ripe stone and tropical fruit, framed by genuine mineral precision.
Finish
Long and memorable, closing pure and clean — ripping acidity that enhances food rather than competing with it.
