That mission remains real and ongoing: 15% of Elephant Gin's profits are donated to elephant conservation projects, including the Big Life Trust and Space for Elephants, funding anti-poaching patrols and habitat protection, and the company is a proud foster parent of 15 elephants rescued by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Every batch label carries the name of a specific, real great tusker or elephant that Elephant Gin's partner foundations currently help protect — a genuine, individual tribute on every bottle.

Handmade near Hamburg, Germany, in small batches of just 600 to 800 bottles, Elephant Gin is distilled using the traditional copper method in an Arnold Holstein still, with botanicals macerated for a full 24 hours before distillation. The recipe runs 14 botanicals deep, genuinely unusual for a London Dry — devil's claw, buchu, baobab, lion's tail, and African wormwood, all sourced from Africa, alongside fresh apples hand-cut from orchards surrounding the distillery, juniper, mountain pine needles, lavender, sweet orange peel, cassia bark, ginger, pimento berries, and elderflower. Notably light on tradition in one specific way: there's no coriander or orris root in the recipe at all, and only a single citrus peel. Every bottle is custom-made, hand-labeled, sealed with natural cork, made from 65% recycled glass, and completely plastic-free.

The gin has earned genuine, independently judged recognition: a Gold Medal at Gin Masters 2022, and World's Best Gin at the 2021 World Gin Awards. "Baking spice types notes sing towards the end. Ginger is perhaps the clearest note; however, there's moments of coriander, peppercorn, and hazy lavender herbals. Finish: Fairly long in length with citrus rind, pumpkin pie spices, and a mild warmth. While Elephant Gin is slightly contemporary, it is a flexible mixing gin... I think it's a solid flavorful gin offering that works as well in a gin and tonic as it does in a gin and soda. Martini drinkers will also find a lot to like about Elephant Gin. I think it has a versatile flavor profile that is savor enough for a Gibson or Dirty Martini, but self driven enough for a Dry Martini with either a twist or olive."
