Gusano Rojo Artesanal Mezcal is a traditional Mexican spirit produced in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, often referred to as the "world capital of mezcal." Crafted from 100% Espadín agave (Agave angustifolia), this mezcal is double-distilled and aged for at least two months in oak and white oak casks, resulting in a smooth and approachable profile.

The name "Gusano Rojo," meaning "red worm" in Spanish, refers to the traditional inclusion of a red maguey worm (chinicuil) in the bottle—a practice that began in the 1950s. This addition is more symbolic than flavor-altering, serving as a nod to mezcal's rich cultural heritage.
