Bootleg Series Vol. VI is a rare and artful blend of 12-, 13-, and 14-year-old wheated bourbon finished in specially crafted Limousin oak “cigar barrels.” Bottled at 121.2 proof (60.6% ABV) and aged 12 years before finishing, it delivers bold oak influence, rich dried fruit, dark chocolate, and warm spices balanced by elegant tobacco and vanilla layers. It’s a striking expression, combining aging mastery with adventurous finishing and stunning visual design.

🌟 Origins & Barrels

• Part of the Bootleg Series by Bob Dylan’s Heaven’s Door brand, each bottle features Dylan’s artwork (this one: Favela Villa Candido from his Brazil Series). 

• The whiskey is a blend of 12–14 year-old wheated bourbons, finished in Limousin oak cigar barrels—tall, air-dried barrels shaped like cigars to maximize wood contact. The French oak was lightly toasted to impart spice, nuts, and creamy vanilla notes while minimizing harsh tannins. 

👃 Nose (Aroma)

Complex and rich: tobacco, caramelized sugar, dried apricot, nutmeg, vanilla, and heated oak meld with hints of herbal lift and spice. The cigar barrel finish expresses itself in aromatic tobacco and toasted wood nuances. 

👅 Palate & Texture

Full-bodied and bold, with dense layers of baking spices, dried fruit compote, toasted Limousin oak, and hints of dark chocolate. There’s a subtle tobacco leaf smokiness and savory depth that enhances rather than dominates the softer bourbon base. 

🔁 Finish

Long, warming, and restrained—featuring lingering vanilla, dark chocolate, allspice, and a whisper of cigar-inflected smokiness. The oak presence stays present but in harmony, carried by heat and balanced sweetness.
