PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Hibiki’s 24-faceted bottle is one of the most recognizable in whisky: each of its 24 facets represents one of the 24 traditional micro-seasons of the Japanese calendar, a nod to the way Hibiki (“harmony” or “resonance”) is meant to capture the changing of the seasons in a glass. For 2026, Suntory handed that bottle to Chiso, one of Kyoto’s oldest kimono houses, founded in 1555, whose craft has been passed down for nearly 470 years.

Chiso reimagined the bottle using Kyo-Yuzen, the traditional hand-dyeing technique used in kimono, and covered the glass in jewel-toned floral designs without altering the bottle’s distinctive shape. The pattern features five motifs that symbolize prosperity, renewal, and longevity: tachibana (a Japanese citrus, also Chiso’s own family crest), kiri (paulownia), sakura (cherry blossoms), ume (plum blossoms), and tsubaki (camellias). The collaboration follows Chiso’s appearance in Hibiki’s first global campaign earlier in 2026, and it continues Hibiki’s tradition of artist-designed limited editions, such as the 2021 Ryusui Hyakka (“One Hundred Flowers and Flowing Water”) and 2023 100th Anniversary designs.

The whisky inside is the standard Hibiki Japanese Harmony, unchanged: a blend of malt whiskies from Suntory’s Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries with grain whisky from Chita, all distilled, matured, and bottled in Japan, with no age statement, at 43% ABV (86 proof). Suntory’s tasting notes describe a nose of “honey-like sweetness, candied orange peel, and white chocolate,” a palate of “rose, lychee, a hint of rosemary, mature woodiness, and sandalwood,” and a “subtle, tender, long finish, with a hint of Mizunara,” the rare Japanese oak that gives Hibiki its sandalwood and incense character. Hibiki is known for being soft, floral, and elegant, a blend meant to be sipped.

It was launched on October 1, 2026, in the US, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Northern Europe, Australia, Singapore, China, Taiwan, and South Korea. Suntory suggests drinking it neat or over a hand-carved Marugori ice ball. Collectors prize the bottle in good condition, and it’s an easy holiday gift. To be accurate with customers: this is a packaging release, and the liquid is the regular Japanese Harmony.
