The 2022 Kistler Pinot Noir Russian River Valley is a wonderful example of elegance and complexity, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship of Kistler Vineyards. Sourced from a cooler site within the Russian River Valley, this wine offers a complex bouquet of red currants, smoked earth, ground pepper, and exotic floral and rose hip notes .
On the palate, it is rich, medium-bodied, and seamless, revealing layers of forest floor and sweet mushroom with an incredible dark structure . The wine's impressive energy and balance make it a quintessential expression of Russian River Pinot Noir.
Crafted from heritage Kistler clones, the grapes are hand-harvested at night, 100% destemmed, and fermented in open-top fermenters. Only free-run juice is collected, with no pressing, and the wine is aged for 10 months in barrel before being bottled unfined and unfiltered .
