La Sorcière Absinthe Bleue is a visually dramatic and flavor-rich absinthe designed for both traditionalists and modern absinthe drinkers. The blue coloring is primarily aesthetic but adds a unique twist to the experience. It’s suitable for someone looking for a classic absinthe profile with a touch of flair.
La Sorcière means "The Witch" in French – evoking a mystical, herbal, and slightly mischievous character.
Strong herbal notes dominated by anise and fennel, with hints of wormwood, mint, and sometimes citrus or floral undertones. Sweet and herbal on the palate, led by anise (similar to black licorice). Mellow bitterness from wormwood and other botanicals. The blue coloring does not affect the flavor but adds visual appeal. Mouthfeel: Oily, rich, and smooth with a warming alcohol presence.
Louche Effect:
When water is added, La Sorcière Absinthe Bleue will louche, meaning it turns milky or opalescent. The blue absinthe may produce a bluish-white louche due to its artificial coloring, which is visually striking.
Serving Suggestions:
Pour 1 oz of absinthe into a glass.
Place a slotted absinthe spoon with a sugar cube over the glass.
Slowly drip 3–5 oz of cold water over the sugar, allowing it to dissolve and dilute the absinthe.
Watch for the louche and enjoy.
