Luzhou Laojiao (Chinese: 泸州老窖) Bainian Baijiu (52% ABV, 750 ml) is a classic expression of China’s renowned strong-aroma (Nóngxiāng) baijiu style, produced by one of the oldest and most historically significant distilleries in the world. Intensely aromatic and full-bodied, it delivers layered notes of fermented fruit, floral perfume, and savory complexity. The “Bainian” name—meaning “Hundred Years”—references the century-old fermentation pits used in its production, highlighting the traditional craftsmanship that defines this distinctive Chinese spirit.


Origins & Craftsmanship

Luzhou Laojiao is produced in Luzhou, Sichuan Province, a region widely considered one of the historical centers of Chinese baijiu production. The distillery traces its heritage back to 1573, making it one of the world’s oldest continuously operating spirits producers.

Baijiu itself is China’s traditional distilled liquor, typically bottled between 35% and 60% ABV, most commonly distilled from sorghum and other grains through a complex solid-state fermentation process.

The Bainian expression is part of Luzhou Laojiao’s strong-aroma (Nóngxiāng) style, known for bold fruity aromas and a rich, full texture.
