Crafted using sweet Muscat from Samos, aged grape distillates, and Mediterranean botanicals, it delivers a graceful tango of dried fruit, spice, and floral nuance—perfect for contemplative sipping or elevated cocktails.
Founded in 1888 by Spyros Metaxa, this iconic Greek spirit is a rare blend of aged wine distillates, sun-rich Muscat wines from Samos, and a closely guarded mix of Mediterranean herbs including May rose petals. Aged in French Limousin oak casks—both medium and heavily toasted—for a nuanced profile. Blend is married in oak barrels for one year before bottling.
Colour: Radiant, deep coppery amber.
Aroma: A captivating bouquet of dried apricot, apricot, peach skin, honey, sugared almonds, rose blossom, and a delicate hint of spice and orange zest.
Palate: Rich and fruity—ripe apricot, peach, raisin, prune, and stone fruit—balanced by light spice, honeyed sweetness, rosewater, and toasted oak notes.
Finish: Long, aromatic, spicy-sweet finish with orange peel, black pepper, black tea, and afterglow of rose blossom and oak warmth.
