Mijenta built the Maestra Selection series specifically to give Maestra Tequilera Ana María Romero — one of the most respected and awarded tequila authorities in Mexico, with more than 25 years in the industry — room to experiment beyond Mijenta's core lineup, one small, limited annual release at a time. Romero has described the whole project's guiding spirit directly: "I am excited to continue to explore a type of innovation in tequila that remains true to the terroir and the heritage of this amazing spirit." No. 1 pushed into genuinely uncharted territory, made entirely from agave grown from seed rather than the more common shoot propagation — the first tequila of its kind. No. 2 took the opposite approach, blending single-estate agave from all five states within tequila's official Denomination of Origin into one bottle, exploring how soil, elevation, and climate shape flavor across the entire category rather than one single region.
No. 3 continues that same annual tradition of exploration, distilled by Romero and bottled at a genuinely robust 50% ABV (100 proof) — consistent with the series' pattern of showcasing tequila at real strength, letting its full aromatic richness come through undiluted. Each bottle in the series has also become a genuine showcase for Mexican folk art: this release's striking box and label artwork, featuring a golden rabbit set against a vivid floral pattern, is credited to artist Sofía Castellanos.
Because this is a newly arrived, limited release, independent tasting notes and reviews aren't yet published anywhere we can find — so rather than guess at its specific flavor profile, we'll let this bottle speak for itself once it's open. For genuine house-style context, Mijenta's broader Blanco lineup consistently draws praise for a "beautifully aromatic, refined, and intricate" profile, built around "ripe cantaloupe, sweet honey, and warm cinnamon" alongside "cooked agave, vanilla, and caramel" — Romero's own background as a trained sommelier shows through in a genuinely wine-influenced, terroir-forward style. This is a real find for serious tequila collectors and Mijenta fans tracking the brand's annual limited releases.
Mijenta Maestra Selection No. 3 Blanco is produced in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, distilled by Maestra Tequilera Ana María Romero, one of the most respected tequila authorities in Mexico with more than 25 years of experience in the industry. It is the third release in Mijenta's Maestra Selection series — an annual, limited-edition line launched to give Romero a platform to explore tequila's full range of flavor and aroma, following No. 1 (made from agave grown entirely from seed) and No. 2 (blending single-estate agave from all five states within tequila's Denomination of Origin).
The tequila is made from 100% Blue Weber agave. Every release in the series is presented with distinctive artwork; this edition's box and label design is credited to artist Sofía Castellanos. Bottled at 50% ABV / 100 proof, 750ml.
No independent tasting notes or critic reviews are confirmed for this release at this time — a genuinely new, limited-edition tequila.
