PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The name is a literal address: No. 3 St James's Street, London — the historic home of Berry Bros. & Rudd, Britain's oldest wine and spirits merchant, trading from that exact spot since 1698. When the company set out, more than a decade ago, to build a gin worthy of that heritage, they didn't rush it. It took two full years — 730 days — and a team that included Dr. David Clutton, the only person in the world to hold a PhD in gin, alongside master distillers and leading mixologists, all working toward a single, deceptively simple goal: "gin, just as it should be."

(This is a set of 12 (twelve) 50 ml mini-bottles.)

The recipe is built around six botanicals, precisely weighed and steeped for more than sixteen hours in ultra-pure grain spirit: juniper at the core, supported by coriander seed, angelica root, cardamom, grapefruit peel, and sweet orange peel. Distillation happens in Holland — gin's own birthplace — at a family-owned distillery with more than 300 years of expertise, using a genuinely historic 100-year-old, brick-encased copper pot still. After more than seven hours of distillation, the Master Distiller personally collects only the heart of the run, and every batch is triple-checked before bottling at 46% ABV. The distinctive green bottle carries its own piece of symbolism: the embossed key design is a direct reference to the key that unlocks the Parlour door at the very heart of the shop at No. 3 St James's Street — entrance into more than three centuries of tradition.

The results speak for themselves: No. 3 has won World's Best Gin four separate times at the International Spirits Challenge, and became the first-ever gin to win the Global Spirits Championship. Chip Dykstra of The Rum Howler Blog awarded 92 out of 100, noting the immediate "assertiveness of the aroma" on first pour and calling it "one of the best gins I have tasted," finding genuine artistry in the recipe's apparent simplicity. Diffords Guide described "nutty, damp woody angelica notes" emerging alongside "citrusy juniper and enlivening spice" — "a traditional piney juniper forward London Dry Gin but with the flavour dials turned up, particularly zesty citrus and earthy spice." This 12-count pack of individual 50ml bottles offers an easy, low-commitment way to sample one of the most consistently decorated gins in the modern category — perfect in a G&T, a dry Martini, or a distinctive Negroni.

Origins & Craftsmanship

No. 3 London Dry Gin is a proprietary recipe created by Berry Bros. & Rudd, Britain's oldest wine and spirits merchant, a family business that has operated from its historic home at No. 3 St James's Street, London, since 1698. The gin's name is a direct tribute to that address. Development took two years, led by a team that included Dr. David Clutton — the only person in the world to hold a PhD in gin — alongside master distillers and leading mixologists, all working to build a classic London Dry Gin that would elevate the simplest cocktail serves while genuinely shining in a Dry Martini.

The recipe centers on six botanicals: juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, cardamom, grapefruit peel, and sweet orange peel, each precisely weighed and steeped for more than sixteen hours in ultra-pure grain spirit. The gin is distilled in Holland, widely regarded as the birthplace of gin itself, at a family-owned distillery with more than 300 years of distilling expertise, using a 100-year-old, brick-encased copper pot still. Following more than seven hours of distillation, the Master Distiller personally collects the heart of the run, and every batch undergoes triple verification before bottling at 46% ABV. The bottle's distinctive embossed key design directly references the key that unlocks the Parlour door at the heart of the No. 3 St James's Street shop — a symbolic nod to entry into Berry Bros. & Rudd's centuries of heritage. This particular offering presents the gin in a set of twelve individual 50ml bottles.

Critics Reviews

Chip Dykstra ("Arctic Wolf"), The Rum Howler Blog — 92/100:
"Berry Bros. & Rudd is London's oldest wine and spirits merchant with over 300 years of experience and tradition to draw on. Using this expertise and a team of spirits experts, they created No. 3 London Dry Gin. When that first sample was poured for me, the first thing I noticed was the assertiveness of the aroma around the glass. The quality is always present and it remains one of the best gins I have tasted... sometimes artistry can be found in simplicity."

Awards: World's Best Gin — 4 times, International Spirits Challenge · First-ever gin to win the Global Spirits Championship

Diffords Guide (extended tasting note):
"Crystal clear. Nutty, damp woody angelica notes emerge with more citrusy juniper and enlivening spice. A traditional piney juniper forward London Dry Gin but with the flavour dials turned up — particularly zesty citrus and earthy spice. Even the alc./vol. is cranked up. This concentration of flavour means a tad less goes as far."

Bernier's Liquors (extended tasting note):
"Aroma: Bright, crisp, and fresh with an uplifting welcome of juniper. Palate: Juniper to the fore, supported by floral notes and spicy, warm cardamom. Plenty of citrus zing complemented by the gingery spiciness of coriander. Finish: Earthy dryness of Angelica."

Tasting Profile

Nose
Crystal clear in the glass. Bright, crisp, and fresh, with an uplifting welcome of juniper leading immediately. Nutty, damp woody angelica notes emerge, joined by citrusy juniper and enlivening spice.

Palate
Juniper leads to the fore, supported by floral notes and spicy, warm cardamom. Plenty of citrus zing comes through from the grapefruit and sweet orange peel, complemented by the gingery spiciness of coriander — a traditional, piney, juniper-forward London Dry with the flavor dials genuinely turned up.

Finish
Earthy dryness of angelica closes things out, with zesty citrus and warming spice lingering throughout. Concentrated and precise — a gin whose intensity means a little goes a long way in any classic serve.
