PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
"Wild Fire" is a genuine single-barrel release from Rare Character's ongoing revival of Brook Hill — a Kentucky bourbon name with real historical weight behind it. The original Brook Hill Whiskey was crafted by Joseph L. Friedman, a figure from the late 19th-century pioneer bourbon movement, whose whiskey achieved the genuinely rare distinction of remaining in lawful production straight through Prohibition. Rare Character has spent recent years reviving that name under its distinctive black label, releasing individual barrels — each with its own unique barrel code, colored wax top, and custom label art tied to the specific retailer or picking group that selected it.
This particular cask, barrel C653, carries the Brook Hill name at 10 years of age, bottled uncut and unfiltered at full natural barrel strength. Rare Character's Brook Hill 10-Year series has typically run in the 112 to 120+ proof range across other confirmed releases, though — as with any true single barrel — each specific cask varies. As with every barrel in this program, "Wild Fire" is genuinely one-of-one: no two releases share an identical flavor profile, since each is selected and bottled entirely on its own individual merits. We weren't able to locate independently published tasting notes specific to barrel C653, so rather than borrow notes from a different cask in the same series, we'll let this particular bottle speak for itself once it's open.
Brook Hill is a whiskey brand with roots in the late 19th-century pioneer era of Kentucky bourbon, originally crafted by Joseph L. Friedman, whose Brook Hill Whiskey maintained legal production through Prohibition — a genuine point of historical distinction. Rare Character Whiskey Co., an independent bottler known for meticulous single-barrel selections spanning a 6-to-20-year age range, has since revived the Brook Hill name as its top-tier, black-label collectible line, positioned in the same conversation as BTAC, Willett Family Estate, and Pappy-tier releases.
"Wild Fire" is one such release: a 10-year-old single barrel of Kentucky straight bourbon from cask C653, bottled uncut and unfiltered at its full natural barrel strength, in a 750ml bottle.
No independent tasting notes or critic reviews are confirmed for this specific barrel at this time. For general house-style context, other Rare Character Brook Hill 10-Year single barrels have been described with notes of toasted marshmallow, wild cherry, dark chocolate, seasoned oak, baking spice, caramelized sugar, and toffee — though flavor profiles genuinely vary barrel to barrel and should not be assumed to apply directly to this cask.
