This release, bottled by Single Cask Nation, is exactly that rare exception: drawn entirely from a single specific barrel, Cask 171635, distilled at Aultmore in April 2011 and matured a full 14 years in a refill French oak barrique — a genuinely distinctive cask choice, since French oak turns up far less often in Scotch maturation than American oak or traditional sherry butts.

Because this is a true single cask, its character belongs entirely to this one barrel, and only 200 bottles exist worldwide — once they're gone, they're gone. Origins & Craftsmanship

Aultmore Distillery was founded in 1895 (some sources cite 1896) by Alexander Edward, then also the owner of Benrinnes Distillery, located near Keith in Banffshire, Scotland, on the banks of the Auchinderran burn — the distillery's Gaelic name, An t-Allt Mòr, translates directly to "the big burn." The distillery was rebuilt and expanded in 1971, doubling its capacity, and is now owned by John Dewar & Sons, part of Bacardi. The majority of Aultmore's production continues to go into Dewar's blended Scotch whiskies, with the distillery's own single malt character — light, delicate, floral, and grassy — remaining a genuine rarity to find bottled independently.

This release was selected and bottled by Single Cask Nation, an independent bottler known for hand-selecting individual casks. Drawn entirely from Cask 171635, distilled at Aultmore in April 2011, the whisky matured a full 14 years in a refill French oak barrique before being bottled in summer 2026. The release is limited to just 200 bottles. Bottled at cask strength, 59.1% ABV, 700ml.
