Smoke Wagon Straight Bourbon Whiskey lays the foundation of the brand with approachable richness and mellow spice. At 92.5 proof, it’s softer than its siblings but still delivers a delightfully creamy texture, honey-sweet corn notes, and balanced rye spice—making it an excellent everyday bourbon that offers more complexity than its simple packaging might suggest.
Crafted by Nevada H&C Distilling Co. (Smoke Wagon) by blending sourced high-rye bourbon from MGP in Indiana.
Combines younger 4‑ to 5‑year barrels (for rye punch) with slightly older barrels (for texture and sweetness), all aged in the top two floors of their Las Vegas warehouse for added heat impact. Bottled at 46.25% ABV (≈92.5 proof) and non-chill-filtered.
Grain-forward and approachable: aromas of honey, vanilla custard, raisins, and apple greet the nose, followed by light oak char, peppery rye, and baking spice.
Smooth and creamy: initial sweetness of caramel, apple, and toffee, giving way to rye spice—white pepper, clove, and citrus zest mid-palate. Accents of tobacco leaf and nutmeg emerge with gentle oak integration.
The finish is medium-length and drying: caramel lingering, light tobacco, and a spice-forward touch of rye that fades gracefully without harsh burn.
