Stranahan's 11 Year Old Bottled-in-Bond American Single Malt Whiskey 750ml

This is a milestone release for Stranahan's: its first-ever Bottled-in-Bond whiskey, and by the distillery's account the oldest Bottled-in-Bond whiskey ever produced in Colorado. It is an 11-year-old American single malt, released August 1, 2026, to honor Colorado's 150th anniversary and America's 250th. Stranahan's has been making single malt in Denver for more than 18 years and was at the forefront of the push to establish American Single Malt as an official category, which was enacted on January 19, 2025.

Bottled-in-Bond is one of whiskey's most exacting standards, rooted in the 1897 Bottled-in-Bond Act. The whiskey must come from one distiller at one distillery in a single distilling season, age at least four years in a federally bonded warehouse, and be bottled at exactly 100 proof. This release goes well past the four-year minimum. It was distilled from 100% malted barley between January and June of 2015, aged a full 11 years in new American white oak barrels with a level 3 char in a federally bonded Denver warehouse, and cut to exactly 100 proof (50% ABV) with Rocky Mountain water from Eldorado Springs. The bottles are hand-filled and individually numbered, and each comes in a commemorative gift box created for the release. As the distillery puts it: "one grain, one distilling season, distilled, aged, and bottled entirely here in Denver."

The official tasting notes describe aromas of grilled peaches, caramelized sugar, maple syrup, and oak, followed by flavors of dried apricot, toffee, chocolate, and baking spice. Another set of the distillery's notes adds candied apples, baked orchard fruit, pipe tobacco, and oiled leather on the nose. This is a limited release, available while supplies last, and a strong pick for American single malt fans and collectors.
