Origins & Craftsmanship

Mountain Angel is produced at Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey Distillery in Denver, Colorado — widely regarded as a pioneer of the American single malt whiskey category. Made from 100 % malted barley, distilled in small batches and aged with pristine Rocky Mountain snowmelt water, this 10 Year Old expression reflects both traditional craft and local terroir. Over a full ten years in new charred American oak barrels, the whiskey undergoes a dramatic “angel’s share” loss due to the high-altitude warehouse environment, concentrating its flavors and aromatic intensity. Limited quantities are released annually, and each batch forms part of the evolving narrative of ultra-premium American single malt whiskey. 

Tasting Profile

Nose:
Inviting and layered, with warm vanilla cream, fragrant mountain pine, and sweet citrus zest, accentuated by hints of spiced oak and gentle dried fruit that reflect both age and altitude.
