PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Teeling Small Batch already carries real credentials on its own — a triple-distilled blend of grain and malt whiskeys, aged separately in ex-bourbon casks before finishing in Central American rum casks, and celebrated as "World's Best" in its category. This limited-edition release takes that established, award-winning whiskey and dresses it in genuinely collectible Notre Dame packaging, born from a partnership between two storied institutions: Dublin's Teeling Whiskey and the University of Notre Dame. Some editions carry official Notre Dame elements right on the bottle itself, including custom engraved emblems — the "Luck of the Irish" logo and a clover leaf bearing the ND monogram — making this a genuine must-have for Fighting Irish alumni and fans, not just whiskey collectors.
Teeling itself has a genuinely significant story: founded by brothers Jack and Stephen Teeling to honor their family's 230-year Dublin distilling legacy, the operation became the first new whiskey distillery to open in the capital in more than 125 years, located in the heart of Dublin's historic Liberties district. The whiskey inside this Notre Dame edition ages up to six years in ex-bourbon casks before a minimum six-month finish in rum casks — a process the distillery credits with developing "a smooth, layered profile" that carries "more structure and flavor than many lighter Irish whiskeys" while remaining genuinely easy to sip neat or mix into cocktails.
The official tasting notes describe "vanilla bean, honey, fresh orchard apples, toasted oak, and subtle rum sweetness" on the nose, with a separate account finding it "floral and herbal, with hints of vanilla, rum raisin notes, and allspice." On the palate: "creamy vanilla sweetness, with a dried fruit, raisin and apricot character and slight tingling spice," alongside "rich toffee" and "spiced rum, toasted oak, and a touch of citrus," closing on "a long, warming finish with lingering sweetness, spice, and oak notes." This is genuinely well-made Irish whiskey wrapped in real collegiate spirit — best enjoyed neat, over a large ice cube, in an Irish Old Fashioned, or as the whiskey of choice for your next Teelgate.
Teeling Whiskey was founded by brothers Jack and Stephen Teeling to honor their family's 230-year legacy in Dublin distilling. The company became the first new whiskey distillery to open in Dublin in over 125 years, based in the historic Liberties district, and has built a reputation for innovative cask finishes and small-batch production that pushes Irish whiskey beyond its more traditional styles.
This limited-edition release is the result of an official partnership between Teeling Whiskey and the University of Notre Dame, now in its second annual release for 2026. The whiskey is built on Teeling's Small Batch foundation — grain and malt whiskeys distilled and aged separately in ex-bourbon casks for up to six years, then finished for a minimum of six months in Central American rum casks. Bottled non-chill filtered at 46% ABV / 92 proof, presented in collectible packaging featuring official Notre Dame branding and, on select editions, custom engraved emblems.
No independent critic reviews are confirmed for this specific Notre Dame edition at this time — a limited, collegiate-branded release.
