PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Turley Wine Cellars 2022 Zinfandel “Rattlesnake Ridge” delivers mountain-vine intensity with elegance—dark fruit and herbal complexity meet fine tannins and vibrant acidity for a wine both powerful and poised.
Crafted from vines planted in 1999 on the “Rattlesnake Ridge” estate vineyard at approximately 2,600 feet elevation on Howell Mountain in Napa Valley. The soils are tufa and red volcanic rock, and the site is certified organic and harvested by hand. The wine is made with native-yeast fermentation and is aged for about 15 months in barrel (approximately 80 % used oak and 20 % new, of which ~80 % French oak, ~20 % American). It is bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve maximum character.
Nose: A compelling mix of ripe stone fruit and dark berries, underpinned by fresh herbs, coconut flakes, and subtle anise-seed and savory meat touches.
Palate: Medium-to-full bodied yet reasonably lithe, with dark plum and raspberry, touches of licorice and lavender, grilled herb nuance, and mountain tannin structure.
Finish: Long, perfumed and refined—grainy tannins, balanced acidity and lingering dark fruit-herb-spice interplay suggest both immediate enjoyment and short-to-medium term ageing upside.

"The 2022 Zinfandel Rattlesnake Ridge is a tense, moving target on the nose, traversing myriad aromas of fresh herbs, ripe stone fruits, coconut flakes, meaty dark fruits, aniseed and subtle reduction before settling itself. The palate is medium to full-bodied but relatively restrained and elegant, coming across as lighter on its feet than the nose would suggest. The finish combines soft, fine but grainy tannins with well-rounded, balanced acidity and a long, perfumed finish.
