Wattie Boone & Sons 10 Year Old Ancient Reserve American Whiskey
47.35% ABV (94.7 Proof), 750 ml
"According to historians, Wattie Boone was the first person documented to have made bourbon in Kentucky, along the Beechfork just behind Preservation Distillery. Honoring Wattie's bourbon legacy and historic journey up the Appalachian Trail, we've released our first single barrel of Wattie Boone whiskey. Made in Tennessee and aged in Kentucky, this is a luscious 8 yr old whiskey worth tasting."
Wattie Boone & Sons is a Tennessee whiskey aged in new charred oak barrels and bottled at 94.7 proof. While that may sound like a Tennessee Whiskey or Bourbon, the wording needs a little clarification. The barrels for this whiskey are actually used oak barrels that receive a new char. So the whiskey can technically neither be Tennessee Whiskey nor Bourbon. But it is an easy drinking whiskey none-the-less!
