Bourbon with Bean:
Kick off May with Bean and a Blackwell’s bourbon cellar archival pick? The Old Forester Single Barrel Bourbon. A one-of-kind, especially selected bottling originally part of our select Blackwell’s Bourbon Club (BBC), this amber-hued gem is a genuine example of what whiskey legends Brown-Forman put forth. With keen focus on flavor and mouthfeel, Bean sought out a barrel from the Old Forester Warehouse I.
Thought all warehouses were the same?
Au contraire says our four-legged canine frère. Warehouse I is known for its depth of complexity, specifically distinct notes of chocolate and vanilla. So not only does the micro environment of each warehouse impact the bourbon, but the floor where it rested also adds its unique mark on the profile and proofing. And while this Old Forester barrel weighs it at a hefty 131.5 proof, it drinks silky smooth. Pretty notes of cinnamon and vanilla, layered with decadent milk chocolate on the palate, this bourbon delivers a truly luscious dram.
For the seasoned bourbon-hound, this is an excellent addition to any collection, and for the reluctant novice, a worthy investment to kick off your new obsession with a paw-sitively awesome bottle.
