The Tenuta Sette Ponti 2020 Oreno Toscana is an exceptional Super-Tuscan blend—bold, elegant and beautifully concentrated. It combines rich dark fruit intensity with refined structure, making it both a statement bottle now and a cellar investment for the next decade.
Hailing from the estate of Tenuta Sette Ponti in Tuscany, Italy, Oreno represents the flagship red of the property. The 2020 vintage is made from 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot. The vineyards sit on a mix of clay, sand and galestro limestone soils, where clusters are carefully reduced early in the season for maximum concentration. Grapes are hand-harvested and sorted, fermented in a combination of temperature-controlled and open-top tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation. Aging is around 18 months in French oak barriques, creating a wine of power and finesse.
Nose: A vivid bouquet of black cherry and blackberry preserves, layered with violet, wild mint, licorice and a hint of tobacco leaf.
Palate: Full-bodied and dense, delivering dark plum, cassis and black olive, with underlying cedar and dark chocolate. Firm tannins and fresh acidity keep it balanced and lively.
Finish: Long and refined, the finish brings lingering spice, mineral undertones and a polished sense of structure—inviting further cellaring while ready to impress now.
