This beautiful whisky from the Hinomaru Brand is a first release from the Yamato and Nukada Distilleries, owned by Kiuchi. It’s a superb creation that brings a balanced range of notes on the nose, palate and finish, just waiting to be explored. Expect gentle citrus, candied peels, burnt orange, milk chocolate and gentle cinnamon spice. It’s a fantastic first release and makes us excited for what’s to come from this up and coming brand.
Kiuchi Sake Brewery celebrates its 200th anniversary of brewing sake with a new attempt, Hinomaru Whiskey. Using a portion of barley, wheat, and rice from Ibaraki Prefecture, several types of undiluted whiskey distilled at the column-type still Nukata Distillery and the pot-still Yachigo Distillery were aged in nature at the eastern foot of Mount Tsukuba.
